Italian Kitchen and Cooking Classes
"You don't have to cook fancy or complicated masterpieces - just good food from fresh ingredients." Julia Child

Meet The Chef

San Diego-based home chef, Giusy brings to the US the sunshine and joy of Southern Italy's culture and cuisine. Born and raised in Bari, Italy, Giusy moved to the United States in 2005 and has since then enjoyed sharing her passion for Italian food with eager students of all ages. Giusy tells captivating stories about the origin of her recipes and preparations, which always seem to delight and entertain dinner guests and private clients alike. Her passion for mindfulness and simplicity guides her cooking and teaching approach with ease, precision and attention to detail. Conscious about the impact of food on people's health and the environment, she specializes in fresh, mostly plant-forward dishes, sourcing local and seasonal ingredients that are free of plastic or other toxic packaging. When she's not cooking, you can find her gardening, enjoying Southern California beaches and trails with her husband and daughter, and hiking with friends.
"Giusy has made many meals for our family. The food is always so delicious. It is like your grandma's recipes made with elegance and an Italian flare. She is truly amazing!"
- Sarah from St. Michael, MN
"As host of a Southern Italian farm to table dinner for 12, I do not have enough superlatives to rave or describe the delicious magic created by Chef Giusy. One guests wrote in her thank you note to me, "I am still dreaming of that beautiful gracious chef, who created an Italian dreamy country evening. I felt transported to a place of wild herbs blowing in the sunshine." Another exclaimed, "It was a fabulous evening with the bella ragazza chef, who allured us to all relish and savour the food demonstration." And yet another, "Chef Giusy created an imaginative dinner that delightfully fed our appetites and souls beyond the yummy take home for morning scones. "Our guests were charmed by the history and cuisine traditions, and the unique preparations and food combinations explained as Giusy waved her Chef wand and enticed our participation. From menu design to choreography of cooking to mouth watering flavors and beautiful presentations, served impeccably with assistant Enrica Costa, Chef Giusy’s special touch gave us all a dinner and evening that was unforgettable."

"Chef Giusy and her assistant Enrica made our birthday dinner very memorable, and such a special experience! She was extremely responsive and thoughtful about the menu, preparing every dish from the homemade pasta to the bread for our bruschetta appetizer. She even prepared scones as a gift for each family as a thank you to enjoy the next morning. Each dish was brought to the table with a brief description of the ingredients, some of which were brought from family in Italy. We thoroughly would recommend her to brighten your next party!" - Krissy, Lake Forest, CA
